Just recently I had a very minor surgery. It was my first ever surgery and my first general anaesthetic.
On the morning of it I was a little nervous, as I am sure everyone is. There were a lot of steps to go through before they take you into surgery. First of all I got glammed up in an Extreme Makeover that really gives Trinny and Susannah a run for their money – gorgeous blue gown that holds together with a tie, sexy white stockings and the all-important hair net (stunning!). I then got to meet with the surgeons, the nurses and finally the anaesthetist.
The anaesthetist was a lovely lady and she said, “It’s going to be quite daunting when you go into theatre, lots of big lights and lots of people. What I want you to remember is every single person is in there to take care of you and only you.”
For me – only me!
For those minutes in the theatre everyone was there just for me!
For this ONE person!
It reminded me of how our Heavenly Father sees us – like we are the one and only person on the planet.
God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.
Psalm 36:5-6 The Message Bible
No matter how small and insignificant we can feel in this world God sees you, knows you and loves you! You are not forgotten – you are loved!
Everything God has done is because he loves YOU!
You – THE PRECIOUS AND TREASURED ONE!
